This was my first time hearing about an annual trail ride, that’s been going on for over twenty years! It takes place at a farm in Pontotoc that sits on a few hundred acres and follows their hunting roads around the perimeter.
I got there late and spent the first 30 minutes riding alone and humming some Fats Domino tunes.
It worked out perfectly because I had just found a used Missing Link Snaffle from Pat Pucket that I had been chomping at the bit to try out.
Pat designed this bit to be a transition between the snaffle and a curb. It takes features from both and includes a cricket to help the horse get used to a rise in the middle.
After a few hours, I began to enjoy how Cordelia held this bit in her mouth and responded to soft changes.
