A few weeks ago I started keeping my saddles in the living room in a corner that needed decoration. It’s a spot that’s too small for any useful furniture and my floor stand fit perfectly. After a trial run to see if I liked them there, I decided to make something more permanent and slightly more elevated (heh).
The design was inspired by the tack room from the barn in the Heartland TV show. One thing I always like about this barn is the straightforward ingenuity that stems from necessity and materials already available.
It was a beautiful evening to work in the barn and do some light building. The horses were grazing on the hill and the sun was just starting to set. This was the time to cut wood and drive screws.
